Job Title: Information Security Intern

Job Summary :
The Information Security Intern will follow all processes and procedures necessary to ensure the security of Wawa’s computer systems, data, and networks from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Primary responsibilities include participation in the information risk management program through assisting in the administration and review of data resulting from various security related tools. Other responsibilities include assisting in the documentation of policies, procedures, standards, and security related technologies.
Principal Duties:
Assist in administration and review of data resulting from various information security related tools.
Assist in documentation of assessment findings reports.
Monitor for release of security related patches.
Assist in creation of reports resulting from information security tools.
Attend information security related meetings and capture meeting minutes and notes.
Assist in development and on-going administration of information security policies and standards.
Develop system documentation for information security tools.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving internal Information Security Team processes to help improve operational efficiency.
Perform research relating to current information security trends and threats and present to team for review.
Participate and contribute in team meetings and discussions as required to design, manage, and implement new technologies, systems, functionalities, and processes.
Assist in evaluation and testing of new technologies, systems, functionalities, and processes. Provide feedback on risks, issues, potential enhancements, and remedial measures based on testing and assessment.
Regularly monitor Information Security logs, email boxes, security event alerts, and other inputs to identify actionable information and initiate follow-up action as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related technical discipline a plus
Pursuit of technical or security certifications a plus (Associate CISSP, MCSE, CCNA, Network)
Prior information security of information technology experience a plus
Working knowledge of information security concepts and technologies such as: networking, network segmentation, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IPS\IDS, network analyzers, data loss prevention, security event management, encryption technologies, proxies, etc. a plus.
Proficiency with Visio and MS office tools
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Higher
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university for the Spring 2025 semester – Fall 2026 semester
Candidate must be available from May 19, 2025 – August 7, 2025
