Ford Motor Company PVT Engineer - Electrical Power and Modules in Wayne, Michigan

This PVT (Plant vehicle team) Engineer position is part of Model e Connected Vehicle organization located in the Vehicle Assembly Plant (Michigan Assembly Plant, Wayne, MI) with the vehicle production team. PVT Engineers are the 'first line of defense' regarding Functional system quality for the products build at the Assembly Plant.

What you'll do…

  • Deliver Vehicle Line/Functional quality objectives (TGW, R/1000, CPU)

  • Handle the ongoing Product Development and improve the quality of Ford Bronco/Ranger Programs

  • Review/Bin/Analyze External Data from GSAR/ECB/QED

  • Manage BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) for issue tracking and resolution

  • Lead and coordinate issue containments/resolution with PD, Supplier and Production teams

  • Support VQR, FQR and other Mgmt. reviews as needed

  • Work with PD-VFG teams to identify roadmap opportunities and key external improvement actions

  • Evaluate external issues and drive changes in internal measurement system and/or containment actions

  • Utilize quality tools and CV (Connected Vehicle) data to identify trends, details and data to support external concerns

  • Production Support of Electrical/Battery Systems

  • Support daily plant meeting and 1st run issues in the Electrical System

  • Support End of Line Issue Investigation/Containments

  • Assist in troubleshooting/repair of units

  • Drive issue resolution with VO/suppliers for internal/external concerns

  • Use internal metrics to correlate and contain external issues

  • Use and understand internal measurement systems to test and detect internal and external issues

  • Support training of Electrical Systems and features or changes to production personnel•

  • Support VESC VRT meetings and subsequent report outs. Lead FTT issue resolution at CAP

  • PD Design Support

  • Manage Change control for Electrical components on Design Running Changes

  • Support Manage the Change meetings and procedures

  • Lead plant trials on Running Changes, TVM and SREA changes

  • Lead issue resolution of Design issues affecting External or Internal quality metrics

  • Support Fresh Eyes and VOCF issues

  • Lead/support part sign-off

You'll Have…

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Software Engineering or closely related field; or equivalency of working experience

  • 2+ years' experience as Product/Quality Engineer in Electrical / Software Environment

Even better, you may have…

  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical/Software Engineering or closely related field

  • 3+ years of experience as Product/Quality Engineer in Electrical / Software Environment

  • Automotive Industry related experience

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

  • 6 Sigma training

  • Experience working in GSAR/JIRA/BSAQ/QED/SREA and WERS.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work well with people, specifically in assembly plant environment

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Application

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
