Phoenix Industrial Services Safety Manager in Wayne, Michigan

Phoenix Industrial Services has partnered with a privately owned aerosol company. This environmentally friendly company has been in business for over 50 years. They need a Safety Manager to join their team at their Wayne, MI location.

This is a full-time temporary to permanent position with benefits including health insurance and PTO.

Starting pay is $20.00/hour.

Availability will be on the 1st shift, 7:00am-3:30pm.

What does a Safety Manager do?

A safety manager is responsible for reviewing and inspecting property, equipment, and practices to insure that the company is in regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local agencies concering all areas of safety, environmental, health, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory and/or health agencies.
  • Formulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by the company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, federal, and State of Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Consult with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, safety program, and disciplinary actions.
  • Devise and conduct training programs to increase proficieny in safe practices.
  • Conduct various inspections for enviornmental concerns and to insure that the company is meeting the requirements of the CSPA handbook in regards to handling aerosol propellents.

Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training (required)
  • OSHA Certified

Please note: While performing the duties of this job, you will be exposed to strong chemical smells.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
