We are lookin for a Sample Fabricator, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm.

Scope: Set up and operate area forming machinery to produce hand samples from prints, sketches, and/or and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Set up department operating sample tooling and equipment following standard operating procedures, or special instruction from supervisor and Application and Lead Engineers.
• Produce hand standard and non-standard samples as required by specified drawing and verbal instructions from Application and Lead Engineers.
• Communicate and cooperate with fellow sample technicians and Application and Lead Engineers to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.

• Clean and maintain machinery, tools, and work/lab area as scheduled.
• Maintain necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions.
• Visually observe, troubleshoot, and report non-conformance condition (either product or process) to supervisor, or manager as required.
• Perform appropriate measurements for standard and non-standard sample development as requested
• Package shipment (including sorting), according to SOPs and work instructions.
• Disassemble and reassemble sample fabrication equipment/machines and replace parts and perform PM's as needed.
• Monitor quality of product.
• Participate in self-development and training of others.
• Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
• Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical/vocational training preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of area-specific Saint-Gobain products and processes.
• Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
• Must be highly motivated and self-directed.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously from different engineers
• Basic command of the English language, written and verbal.
• Able to read and follow SOPs, labels and instructions.
• Demonstrated mechanical abilities, including use of calipers and other measuring tools.
• Computer skills necessary to fulfill the department requirements
• Knowledge of SPC.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
• Operate manual milling, manual lathe and manual grinder a plus.
• CNC Milling/CNC Lathe Knowledge a plus.
