FRICK, the leader in industrial refrigeration, is comprised of many product lines. We have compressors, compressor packages, complete packaged systems, pressure vessels, hygienic air units, heat exchangers, and controls.
What you will do: Our Industrial Refrigeration Airside Products Engineering team has an immediate opening for a full-time, direct hire, degreed mechanical engineer. Responsibilities includes applying engineering principles to develop new products, maintain existing products, and process sales orders for FRICK branded airside equipment used primarily in food processing rooms.
How you will do it: You will be joining a team of engineers who work together and independently to meet company goals. Work will be completed individually and with the help of others. The individual will interface with sales, purchasing, other engineering groups, and manufacturing to identify and implement improvements related to design, part selection and fabrication.
In your assignments, you will use commercially available CAD and engineering software along with proprietary in-house engineering configuration tools. We will provide support and training for you to be successful.
During your introductory period, you will be paired with a suitable onboarding partner/mentor to help provide advice and guidance as you adjust to the workplace.
This position consists of an engineer under the supervision of a local department manager or group supervisor.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
Design, model, annotate/draw and BOM release of Hygienic Air Handling Units (AcuAir) and Frick Penthouse Evaporator (FPHE) solutions.
Provide technical guidance to Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, Customers, Marketing, and Operations.
Resolve shop and end user issues including improvements in design and fabrication.
Independently read and interpret schematics and drawings.
Awareness of applicable national and international codes and ability to interpret and seek experts when necessary.
Evaluate and implement corrective action to resolve quality issues.
Value Added / Valued Engineered and workflow optimization.
Apply computer knowledge to automate and streamline workflows.
Travel to acquire training within the industry and occasional travel to resolve supplier and customer issues.
Adhere to the Company's Code of Conduct and Ethical Business standards.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a good understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and processes related to the mechanical and thermodynamic aspects of compressors, heat exchangers and associated systems. He or she must demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the finished product.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
3D solids design and 2D CAD. Certifications or high proficiency.
The individual must have the ability to work independently and as part of a group.
Basic understanding of fundamental business processes.
Self-motivated work initiative.

Customer oriented mindset.
English written and spoken language skills.
1 to 6 years' experience, including internships
Preferences:
Sheet metal fabrication experience.
Experience or proficiency with the following:
Autodesk Inventor 3D and AutoCAD 2D
SAP / ERP Software
C# / Python / VBA
Git
Programming and experience using a configurator to automate CAD processes.
Experience with thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle.
Experience working in a hybrid work environment.
Finite Element Analysis (F A) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience.
Spanish fluency.
Work Location: We understand the preference to have a more flexible working environment working either remote or on site. With this, we require our personnel to be local to our manufacturing facility and expect during the initial onboarding process to work nearly 100% on-site. After completing a 2-month onboarding process, we permit our employees to embrace an optional hybrid work preference which allows flexibility of remote work and Waynesboro, PA on-site work / visits as needed.
TRAVEL:
Travel requirements are minimal (i.e., less than 10%). NOTE: This is a full-time permanent position, mid-level (1 to 6 years' experience).
