DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Utility Plant Operator 2, you will lead and assist in the operation and maintenance of the central boiler plant under the instruction and supervision of the Utilities Supervisor. The central boiler plant continuously operates any combination of three 250HP oil / natural gas fire tube high pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment to provide this facility with uninterruptible steam for space heating, hot water, and dietary operations. In addition, you will provide support to other utility services and maintenance functions to include operation and maintenance of the Sewage Treatment Plant as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Hours of work: Rotating schedule covering all three shifts (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays. Typical rotation is (6) days of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with four days off, (7) days of 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with two days off and (7) days of 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with two days off. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (commonwealth title); or One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
