Henry Ford Health System Nurse Manager General Surgery (Full-Time) Days-West Bloomfield in West Bloomfield, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Nursing Manager is a Registered Nurse who is accountable for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating the delivery of patient care at multiple sites or departments. Provides clinic leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team and leadership to assure quality patient care. Care is provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group and Henry Ford Health policies and procedures. Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. In conjunction with the Administrator, assumes responsibility for fiscal management of clinic/department.

Outpatient surgical clinics covering multiple specialties including: General surgery, breast cancer surgery, Acute Care, bariatric surgery and wound clinic.

Location: This position will cover West Bloomfield with some travel to Plymouth and Sterling Heights Lakeside/Commons clinic Clinton Twp

Average time spent at each location: 75% will be at West Bloomfield 15% Sterling Heights and 10% Plymouth location

Hours: 40-hour work week. W orking hours start/stop time between 7AM-9AM & 3:30PM-6:30PM ( some flexibility required)

Clinic open M-F (8AM-4/5PM)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.

Master's degree in nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent preferred.

Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.

Three to five (3-5) years of progressively more responsible experience demonstrating leadership skills in a clinical setting required.

Some examples include Charge Nurse Duties; Leadership of special projects such as Service Excellence teams; Quality Improvement initiatives, Clinic Process Redesign.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage complex clinical, administrative, and interpersonal problems.

Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Maintains professional competency through review of current literature, attendance at educational programs, and participation in professional organizations.

Experience with joint commission, managing front line staff, conflict resolution exp

Experience leading clinical team members, outpatient surgery preferred, quality and safety experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.

Experience in the following areas strongly encouraged: leading clinical team members, outpatient surgery preferred, quality and safety experience.

Experience with joint commission, managing front line staff, inpatient or outpatient prefer outpatient, conflict resolution exp
