Job Details:
Scheduled Hours: Primarily 7:30am - 4:00pm, with time spent on evening shift and night shift as needed.
Job Description:
Provides supervision and leadership for assigned staff- Phlebotomists, Lab Assistants, and Send Out Operations- and plays an integral role in laboratory operations, including but not limited to hiring, disciplinary action, discharging, scheduling, assigning work, and recognition. Performs tests and procedures following established guidelines and predetermined criteria. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and uses knowledge, critical thinking skills, and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or in Chemistry, Biology or related field.
-One-year clinical internship in a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited clinical laboratory science program or approved alternate career path that meets certification eligibility requirements.
-Certification in one of the following:
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification
