Robert Half Desktop Support Analyst in West Chester, Pennsylvania

JOB SUMMARY:

The role involves assisting the IT Manager in daily IT operations across all business units. Responsibilities include maintaining IT infrastructure, providing end-user support for hardware, software, and network issues, and ensuring prompt and courteous assistance to users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance via various channels.

  • Deliver timely and polite technical support to resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Record all support requests and incidents in a ticketing system for proper tracking.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying root causes and offering effective solutions.

  • Escalate complex problems to appropriate IT team members and ensure follow-up on resolutions.

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and updates on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.

  • Assist in setting up and configuring new workstations to meet organizational standards.

  • Provide user training and documentation for common desktop procedures and applications.

  • Assist with user account management, password resets, and access permissions.

  • Educate end-users on data security best practices and compliance.

  • Maintain professionalism and patience in user interactions, delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Create and update detailed documentation of technical procedures and issue resolutions.

  • Share knowledge with team members to improve overall IT support efficiency.

  • Monitor and manage hardware and software inventory for optimal asset tracking.

  • Collaborate with procurement for IT equipment ordering and management.

  • Occasional after-hours support and on-call duties may be required.

  • Willingness to travel to remote locations as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience in a help desk and desktop support role.

  • Proficient in Windows operating systems.

  • Strong familiarity with common business applications and productivity tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.

  • Knowledge of IT ticketing systems.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
