The opportunity

The Head of Global Compliance & Ethics (GC&E) Operations will lead, direct and operationalize compliance & ethics programs and related systems that support GC&E’s strategic direction and that of Teva’s. Specifically, this role will lead two groups that comprise the operations function: 1) the risk programs and systems group responsible for GC&E monitoring, transparency, data analytics, and third-party risk management programs and 2) the training, policy and communications group responsible for department communications, global training initiatives and Teva policy governance. This leader will take a proactive and strategic approach to ensure that the appropriate level of operational support is provided to both department and business stakeholders; to coordinate internal resources and information across functional and regional boundaries to support department and company initiatives; and to ensure the GC&E program continues to adequately meet Teva’s risk profile while maintaining and strengthening Teva’s culture of integrity.

The Head of Operations will oversee and manage these two groups and will also serve as the hands-on lead and subject matter expert in developing department communications and supporting materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and audience appropriateness. In addition, this position will support the Chief Compliance Officer in creating communications for executive leadership and the Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders as needed.

The Head of Operations will be a member of the GC&E Leadership team and will assist in setting and driving the Compliance Leadership Team agenda and priorities, budget and other initiatives as required.

This role requires extensive collaboration and teamwork with other GC&E units as well as with groups outside of GC&E including finance, legal, HR and global leadership personnel. Additionally, this position requires the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, including very senior business stakeholders, with the ability to tailor messages according to varied audiences. Additionally, this position requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the ability to analyze and prioritize requests in alignment with the leadership team and GC&E strategy.

The selected candidate will be required to work in the West Chester office 2-3 days per week.

How you’ll spend your day

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a robust Compliance & Ethics Operations program and team which is designed to support both internal GC&E initiatives as well as inform business stakeholders. Ensure strategic priorities are implemented across all programs. Serve as an active member of the Global Compliance & Ethics Leadership Team, provide routine updates and contribute meaningfully to the department goals.

Communications, Training & Policy

  • Department Communications: Serve as the lead on the development, coordination and distribution of a large portfolio of department communications. Provide guidance and oversight to team, support critical stakeholder relationships with corporate communications, HR and the GC&E Leadership team. Ensure that communications are clear, accurate, relevant and audience appropriate.

  • Training: Oversee and guide GC&Es training program which impacts all Teva employees multiple times per year. Ensure content is relevant, timely and easily consumable. Ensure GC&E training strategy remains innovative, effective, relevant and concise. Partner with Global Learning & Development to ensure training initiatives are aligned with global learning strategy, and that training analytics and dashboard efforts are coordinated. Ensure appropriate content coordination amongst senior management and/or other subject matter experts. Facilitate data for training metric reporting to key stakeholders.

  • Policy: Lead routine GC&E policy review and updating; oversee Teva’s Global Policy office and governance function.

Risk Programs, Data and Related Systems

  • Monitoring: Oversee strategic efforts on the GC&E monitoring program to ensure risk assessment effectiveness and related monitoring activities are appropriately calibrated; ensure findings effectively remediated and that trends are identified and escalated to GC&E leadership for evaluation.

  • HCP Interactions: Oversee the management of the systems and related processes on HCP/HCO/GO engagements, FMV, and transparency reporting requirements.

  • Analytics & Other System/Data Requests: Oversee the management and future enhancements of GC&Es analytics platform to allow for continuous improvement of the GC&E program and provide actionable data for compliance to educate and support the business. Prepare critical GC&E data and qualitative input for ESG reporting publications. Provide data and other content in support of executive level communications and other requests as needed.

  • Third-Party Due Diligence: Oversee the Third-Party Due Diligence (TPDD) function ensuring that Teva’s ability to perform due diligence on Third Party Representatives (TPRs) and manage the TPR governance program remains best in class, efficient and effective. Ensure the appropriate strategic evolution of the program and support critical stakeholder relationships.

Your experience and qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) is required. Advanced degree (Masters’ Degree or Juris Doctorate) is preferred.

  • 15+ years’ experience, preferably in healthcare environment and the pharmaceutical industry

  • 7+ years in compliance/risk related role

  • Experienced team leader with a minimum of 10+ years supervisory or people leadership experience and ability to manage diverse groups of employees.

  • Experience in leading multiple operational programs with superior project management skills.

  • Experience in developing, deploying and managing training modules as part of overall learning & development lifecycle.

Communication Skills :

  • Superior writing and communication skills are required.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Prepare documents and presentations that are clearly and concisely written.

  • The individual must possess the ability to professionally interact with all levels of Teva’s corporate infrastructure, as well as that of our business partners.

  • Demonstrate cross-cultural communication sensitivity.

Influence :

  • Demonstrate an ability to set and articulate strategy, drive critical decision making, influence others, and obtain accurate and positive results. Ability to facilitate cross-functional groups to coordinate efforts and elicit efficient responses.

Technical Skills :

  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), specifically with pivot tables/charts and PowerPoint presentations. Must have superior skills in standard Microsoft Office tools such as Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, etc.

  • Time Management: Able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, ensuring materials are prepared with enough advance notice for stakeholder review. Prioritize and organize work effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Problem Solving/Decision Making: Able to master a complex and global work environment. Develop resolutions to project-related problems of moderate to high level scope. Leverage resources available to determine appropriate actions for problems presented.

  • Collaboration: Develop solid working relationships with peers, management and key stakeholders. Participate in inter-departmental projects, knowledge management and training. Provide professional support and guidance to other team members. Provide and receive effective feedback.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Business travel might be required for meetings, some projects and site visits. Estimated travel is 15-20%.

Compensation Data

The annual starting salary for this position is between $220,000 – $288,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may also be eligible for bonus, sales target(s), and/or long-term incentive compensation awards. Level of the role will be commensurate to years of experience and performance criteria.
