Full Time | Day Shift (may include occasional weekend mornings + holiday coverage)
Summary
Provides direct clinical care for Penn Medicine employees and Occupational Health Center clients.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Provides direct clinical care for Penn Medicine employees and Occupational Health Center clients. This includes all aspects of occupational health physical examinations (i.e. – pre-employment, annual, OSHA, Hazmat, Executive, Immigration and Travel.
· Clinical: rooming patients, vital signs, reviewing medical history, obtaining lab specimens, assisting with procedures.
· Provide screening services to include Fit Testing (Qualitative & Quantitative), audiometric testing, Spirometry, Vision, EKG’s, Phlebotomy, Tb testing, immunizations, drug and alcohol testing.
· Enter and maintain patient data in electronic medical records (Systoc & PennChart).
· Communicate patient status to client companies, including all Penn Medicine entities.
· Works collaboratively with the organization, management and scheduling of health system screening and immunization programs (i.e. Flu Vaccine, COVID Vaccine and Fit Testing).
· Conducts Penn Medicine employee COVID testing.
· Works collaboratively with clinical staff on Red Pass management of COVID positive employees.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops and maintains knowledge of occupational medicine services.
· Maintains occupational medicine certifications, as needed.
· Maintains BLS/CPR certification and provide assistance in Code situation.
· Pass and maintain hospital’s mandatory educational competencies and departmental clinical competencies.
· Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department; collaborates with other caregivers/staff within Occupational Health and health system, to develop means of enhancing patient care and service.
· Maintains standards of confidentiality.
· Age specific knowledge and skills – Possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet patients’ physical, psychological and social needs with those growth and development levels/patient populations served within the department.
· Other duties and projects as assigned.
Licensure, Certification or Registration Requirements
· Active Pennsylvania State Practical Nurse License (LPN) required.
· Valid driver’s license in the state of residence required.
Related Work Experience
· Preferred experience in Occupational Health including direct client care for Occupational related issues, familiarity with workers’ compensation/disability, and government regulations. Knowledge of drug testing procedures and protocols.
· At least two (2) years working as a LPN.
