This position will support adults with IDD and their staff to manage behavioral concerns helping them to have more meaningful lives.
This position requires that applicants be enrolled in a degree program that will grant them credit hours for their internship. Applicants must also be graduate level students studying Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or a related field.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments.
Co-leads support and psycho-education groups.
Conducts other assessments as appropriate including away time assessments, Personal Outcomes Measures, etc.
Provide 1:1 support to people with IDD and their families.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
Assignments may be determined at a future date based on graduate program requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Interest in helping adults with IDD to gain independence and more meaningful lives.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexibility.
Sufficient skills to communicate effectively with system users regarding technical and business issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current graduate level student in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Must be capable of doing SCIP-R physical interventions once trained.
Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for moderate-periods of time
Able to work in open space floor plan
Must be capable to move throughout work day and follow individuals
Work alongside individuals within 3 feet
Occasional lifting of > _15+pounds
