Catholic Health Services Vice President, Human Resources in West Islip, New York

Overview Good Samaritan University Hospital located in West Islip, Long Island, New York is a flagship member of Catholic Health, an integrated health system serving the communities of Long Island and is noted for its excellent quality, safety and patient experience. Serving as a member of the hospital senior leadership team, this position is the senior HR executive for the facility responsible to oversee the day to day HR activities including employee relations, employee engagement and performance management strategies. Working collaboratively with Catholic Health HR shared services this position ensures a culture that promotes a positive employee experience and a high level of engagement through the effective delivery of HR services. Job Details Essential Functions: Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees on HR issues, policies, practices and performance management strategies. Develop and maintain effective and positive relations with managers and employees. Work collaboratively with Catholic Health system functions including Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Total Compensation and Organizational Learning and Innovation to ensure HR services are delivered in an effective manner. Serve as a trusted business partner to mangers and a resource to employees to meet the goals and mission of the health system. Position Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong Interpersonal skills - Ability to relate with a variety of personalities and generate a sense of trust. Negotiation Skills - Ability to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties. Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions that serve the best interests of the organization Track record of progressively responsible experience overseeing major HR functions in a complex healthcare setting. Master’s degree in business administration, HR or related field. Labor relations experience including contract negotiations, dispute resolution and administering collective bargaining agreements.
