We are seeking an experienced Butcher to join our new opening store. Exciting workplace, free lunches, and much room for growth and advancement. salary: $35,360 - $35,360.01 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Sharpen, clean and adjust cutting equipment

• Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery

• Cut, slice, bone, or grind pieces of meat to specification

• Ensures all food items are butchered in accordance with established standards in respect to preparation, storage and accountability.

• Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature

• Maintains quality inventory control of all poultry and meat items.

• Responsible for the proper rotation, storage temperature and environment required.

• Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards.

• Able to lift up to 30 pounds

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• 2+ years' experience in a butcher role

• High School / G.E.D

• Must be Bi-lingual able to read, write, understand and communicate in English, Spanish or Creole

• A proactive attitude

• Able to work independently and in a team environment

• Able to work in cold, refrigerated rooms where meat is stored, and use of sharp cutting tools safely.

• Experience in food safety and sanitation procedures and rules.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment

• working weekends

Skills
