About the role

The purpose of this position is to support the management of EHS (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs relative to a specific Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical site in West Point, Pennsylvania.

What you’ll do

Assists in leading EHS programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and EHS needs of a client including construction projects and demolitions.

This person will assist the project management team with safety oversight for contractors to ensure adherence to all client requirements and applicable regulations. Focusing in development of JSA/JHAs, required documentation for projects, hazard recognition, review of high risk permitting for fall protection, LOTO, excavations, line breaking, cranes and rigging.

Support the process for monitoring incident related performance on this assigned account. Support the development & implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.

Assist in the investigation for all injuries, illnesses, property damage or other incidents.

Acts as a resource to staff as the EHS subject matter expert. Provides direct and timely advise and information to the management responsible for the account, market area, or other assigned area of responsibility in matters related to EHS performance, compliance, trends, and concerns. Assists in coordinating specific EHS plans, playbooks, and procedures for the assigned account or market area, making certain play books are current, complete, and effectively implemented.

Assists in the development and implementation of strategic solutions and training that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required.

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent experience or General Education Degree or equivalent experience (GED) required. Minimum of 10 years of related safety program management experience.

Working knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with contractor management, regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers is preferred.

Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and facility maintenance needed.

Must experience in management of contractors, oversight of permitting related to high-risk work and fall protection plans, policies & safety procedures.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Any of the following: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) nice to have but not required.
