Job Description

Located in West Point, PA, our Unity Lab Services division provides flexible, world-class service solutions for laboratories.

Job Responsibilities

  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management systems for activities including on-site program replenishments, disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.

  • Pickup of hazardous waste and delivery of chemical packages within a laboratory environment.

  • Assist in the registration of chemicals into a chemical database and sustain the chemical stockroom inventory.

  • Follow strictly outlined work processes and proactively communicate any customer concerns or potential problems to your supervisor.

  • Engage in process improvement activities and other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within a laboratory setting or services.

  • Proven customer service, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, with strong communication skills and a desire to deliver flawless customer service.

  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of Thermo Fisher personnel and customers.

  • Proficiency in operating handheld scanners and performing data entry functions.

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite; organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently at customer sites, including areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use.

  • Capability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, using tools like pushcarts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

  • Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements, including lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and steel toe shoes.
