Amergis School RN | Bus Transportation | $40/hr. in West Seneca, New York

Amergis Staffing is hiring compassionate RN's for a school in Orchard Park, NY. The qualified RN will work with a special needs student in a 1:1 capacity during their transportation to and from school on the bus. The assignment is morning and afternoon bus rides with the student. (approximately five hours per day). Read below for additional details:

  • Shift: 7a-9a and 1p-3p, approximately

  • G-Tube experience required

  • Current RN license in good standing in the State of New York

  • BLS Certification

  • Reliable transportation

  • Pediatric experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluate student’s care needs

  • Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skill nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders/IHP

  • Performs interventions, treatments and medications administration according to the identified priorities as outlined in the IHP

  • Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments and medications

  • Completes documentation per client expectations

  • Coordinates and facilitates services as requested between the school, local health agencies and other community resources to meet the needs of the student

  • Communicates with the school district personnel about student’s plan of care/IHP

  • Notifies District School Nurse/Amergis Supervisor /Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP regarding the following:

  • Changes in condition of student

  • Physician notification to obtain necessary orders

  • Collaborates with school/education personnel/other health agencies as requested, to design and meet student’s health care needs

  • Evaluates and assures student safety at all times

  • Adheres to Amergis Healthcare and school district policies

  • Maintains accuracy in student health record

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

  • One year of professional experience, preferred

  • Complies with accepted professional standard and practice

  • Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program

  • Current CPR

  • PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
