Job Description

Olympus is hiring a Sr. Analyst to join the Analytics & Reporting team who will deliver support to our market leading medical systems group. In this role, the incumbent will work cross functionally with multiple groups, including sales and marketing, as well as members of the Analytics & Reporting team, to deliver insights that help guide business decisions and support go-forward strategies. The development and tracking of key performance indicators will be critical to enhance the understanding of the business and improve data based decision making. They will work on projects that range from segmentation and targeting initiatives to sales promotion analysis and data visualization/dashboarding creation. They will enjoy figuring out how to automate solutions in applications such as Salesforce.com, SAP Business Objects and Qlik. The Sr. Analyst will gather requirements from sales and marketing teams, develop solutions and conduct quantitative analysis of data results to make recommendations to leadership teams. They will take the lead in collaborating with other teams as needed to produce the most effective solution. They will feel comfortable taking initiative, consider themselves a self-starter and understand the importance of data integrity and providing excellent customer service to the team they support.

This role will report to the of Analytics and Reporting and be a member of the MSG Sales Operations team at Olympus, which is comprised of four groups: Professional Services, Analytics & Reporting, Salesforce Enablement and Compensation Effectiveness. All of these teams are bound together through a mission to turn data into actionable insights that our internal and external customers can use to make better decisions.

Job Duties

  • Identify and implement innovative analytic frameworks and solutions to facilitate strategic business decisions, identify new market opportunities and uncover areas of improvement.

  • Provide ROI analysis of marketing initiatives and targeted sales activities.

  • Engage with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand each business initiative. Probe for hidden questions and goals. Bring structure to each request and translate requirements into an analytic approach.

  • Work with Product Management to identify target customers for marketing/sales initiatives by focusing on segmentation exercises. Work with Salesforce.com team to integrate target lists into CRM as new sales leads; monitor sales performance against target lists.

  • Understand relationships between front end applications and data repositories. Ensure quality of the source information/data that is relied upon by management in their decision making.

  • Analyze marketing and sales metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between markeUcustomer actions and financial outcomes in order to increase profitability.

  • Build dashboards with Business Intelligence tools such as the SAP Business Objects tool set {Webi, Design Studio and Lumira) and Qlik to visualize key performance indicators for specific customers, products and/or promotions.

  • Work directly with and interview sales representatives and customers in order to inform effectiveness of strategies and uncover potential strategic/tactical opportunities.

  • Educate and train users regarding the functional use of analyses, reports and other tools.

  • Advise leadership on how Bl and Analytics come together (processes, practices and technologies) to play a critical role in improving data based decision making

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

  • Minimum of 6 years with Bachelor's Degree; minimum of 4 with Master's Degree. Experience preferable in the medical device, pharmaceutical, financial service or insurance industries.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Self-directed individual with ability to multi-task on concurrent projects

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Access)

  • Report development experience in Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik or SAP Business Objects is required Ability to convert analytical findings to business outcomes so that they are clear and concise to any audience Relational database/SQL experience highly desired

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven

  • Ability to travel domestically if projects require

  • Skilled at finding logical flaws in arguments and plans; identifies problems and solutions that others might miss; provides detailed insight and constructive criticism into problems and complex situations

  • Displays confidence and poise in formal speaking situations; creates effective and compelling presentations
