POSITION SUMMARY The New Product Development Engineer will participate in the new product development process and provide technical support on various projects. To include integrated racks and solution projects. This position will use the design for service principles to ensure that safety, serviceability, and service business goals are met. The position will collaborate with global technical leads to ensure consistency in execution and service readiness for the IRS product. The candidate will participate in service strategy review and report program updates to service leadership team. RESPONSIBILITIES New Product Development Projects * Interface with R&D engineering and product management to implement the Global Serviceability Specification in new products. * Monitor new product quality. Track initial startups and provide feedback to engineering and product management. * Represent Vertiv Services at design reviews, product reviews, phase gate reviews, and provide updates to management. * With engineering assistance, develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. * Act as the Liebert Services representative on the engineering change control board. * Provide technical expertise in development of service plans for new products. * Assist in the design and testing of new products from a service perspective. * Provide support to Logistics for parts research, spare kits, and parts sourcing * Lead development of service-related documentation. * Develop source material for beta training classes. * Attend Beta startups and first article startups. Administration * Submit expense reports, trip reports, and timecards accurately and on time. * Attend new product and self-development training classes. * Document new tooling or test equipment requirements. * Train PTS and first classes of CEs on new products. * Lead documentation and service platform development for new products. * Develop startup and preventative maintenance forms for new products. * Provide technical guidance to Marketing in development of Scope of Work documents, and new services. * Stay familiar with new products/environments that may affect product operation to include new revisions, updates, upgrades, etc. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of four-year technical degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent training and experience. * Minimum of three years of field service and two years' experience as a Technical Support Engineer. * Course development and instructional experience with an emphasis on technical training is preferred. * Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Ability to communicate and present material to Executive Management. * Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. * Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision. * Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * Occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs. * Reactive, fast paced and high-profile environment.
