Vertiv Corporation Senior Manager Commercial Finance in Westerville, Ohio

Vertiv, a global leader in critical infrastructure solutions, seeks a Senior Manager, Commercial Finance at its headquarters in Westerville, OH to join our Americas Finance team. Your role will include strategic planning, executive reporting, and margin optimization in financial leadership and support of Sales Operations, Procurement, and Line of Business (LOB) Engineering. You will be in frequent contact with Sales and LOB teams to assess quoting inputs, savings commitments, and ensuring the follow-through in execution. Additionally, it is anticipated this role will grow into a more senior role to lead more robust function over commercial pricing and terms with customers to mitigate finance risks across credit/treasury, inventory, liquidated damages, terminations, etc. This role requires a self-starter with proven leadership and experience in manufacturing finance, strategic finance analysis, process creation, and continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES * Implement and lead a reporting cadence for sales and margin risk assessment leveraging inputs from backlog, quotes, and opportunities with comparisons to regional and LOB sales and margin targets. * Collaborate with Procurement and external service providers to assess economic data and inflation outlook to ensure pricing and strategic analyses remain up to date for optimal decision making. * Create and standardize a selling bid package analysis template and product cost scenario analysis tool. * Partner with Sales Operations and LOB to ensure we utilize the most accurate and recent bill of material costs, inflation, margin targets, competitive intel, and other relevant assumptions for selling price decisions. * Evaluate and determine solutions to prevent inflationary exposures through customer and supplier pricing terms as well as commodity and currency hedging programs. * Establish a process to track cost savings commitments made during the quoting process and translate those commitments on awarded quotes to the functional project management tools for accountability and execution. * Support LOB Engineering teams by coordinating and tracking value added engineering project savings vs. LOB targets and reporting of risks & opportunities. * Identify commercial financial risks from quote to cash to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and optimized to prevent margin erosion and unfavorable liquidity impacts. * Work with Legal, Procurement, and Sales Operations to design, implement, and oversee a consistent commercial contract gate process that is responsible for reviewing, optimizing, and recording contract terms and conditions. * Provide ad hoc analytical support as a business partner to Sales and LOB leadership. * Miscellaneous responsibilities and special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or engineering * 7-8+ years of experience in a commercial or manufacturing finance related role Preferred Qualifications: * Proven leadership skills in business partnership and process implementation. * Experience in standard costing and manufacturing accounting principles. * Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills. * Ability to pull together and summarize large amounts of data into concise explanations. * Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * SQL query development experience, a plus. * Manufacturing or large global firm experience, a plus. * ERP Systems experience, preferably Oracle.
