Loenbro Regional Operations Manager – Critical Electrical in Westminster, Colorado

Position: Rockies Region Operations Manager – Critical Electrical

Department: Loenbro – Industrial Services Group

Reports To: Regional Operations Manager

Location : Denver, CO OR Casper, WY

Wage: $140K to $170K DOE

Position Overview:

The Region Operations Manager (ROM) is primarily responsible for the field operations side of the project in our Critical Electrical Service Line. Although the Project Manager (PM) has the ultimate responsibility for the financial outcome of the project, both the ROM and the PM work together in ensuring that the project gets successfully completed from both the field and management side of the business. The ROM has the direct responsibility for recommending the best superintendent for the project and staffing the project with the required field technicians within the licensing requirements and ratios of the local authorities. He also has the responsibility of ensuring that the project is timely and adequately mobilized with trailers, stock material, office supplies and tools. His responsibilities extend to ensuring that the proper budgeted labor rate and production levels are maintained throughout the project. He frequently communicates with the PM to ensure the collaboration and project unity between the field and management is uniform and cohesive. His communication with the client should always be communicated with the PM and consistent in nature of that of the PM to maintain good client relations. He is r esponsible for recruiting, dispatching, and managing craft employees. The ROM assists Project Managers, Superintendents and General Foreman as needed to ensure profitable, safe, timely and quality project execution. The ROM assists Division Manager and Industrial Construction Management team (including Operations Manager, Chief Estimator, Fabrication Manager, Safety Manager, and Quality Control Manager) in coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recruiting, dispatching and management of all craft employees, including superintendents, general foreman, foreman, electricians, controls techs, operators, apprentices, skilled laborers, laborers, etc.

  • Understand competency management of all trades within the electrical and controls scopes of work in order to maximize in-house personnel.

  • Support estimating effort through bid reviews and constructability reviews, including review of activity productions, crew makeup, equipment selection and cost analysis.

  • Understands project contract Terms and Conditions

  • Understands the project estimate and Scope of Work.

  • Understands the project schedule.

  • Assist in project planning.

  • Involved in creating the project manpower loading schedule.

  • Understands the project budget.

  • Mobilizes the project with trailer, stock material, office supplies, safety supplies and tools.

  • Manages warehouse personnel.

  • Responsible for ensuring all safety and environmental requirements are met.

  • Ensure craft management staff are appropriately coordinating all labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with Project Manager and other Loenbro companies to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of projects.

  • Teach Superintendents and General Foreman how to generate and manage a 3 week look ahead schedule to ensure manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and all resources are scheduled appropriately.

  • Assures all employees within the team know and follow the company safety and work rules and policies.

  • Knowledge of national and local code requirements relevant to this discipline

  • Ability to execute small projects with PM support up to $250,000

  • Staff the project with qualified technicians.

  • Monitors and maintains project production levels.

  • Supports the superintendent with project production reports.

  • In concurrence with the superintendent, he assists in forecasting project labor cost to complete to PM.

  • Review superintendents’ daily reports and documentation.

  • Manages customer satisfaction.

  • Identify and manage project labor risk.

  • Visit sites regularly during construction — including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress visits, punch walks, and closeouts — and attend status and coordination meetings.

  • Ensures that all employees within the department receive the proper training required in order for them to operate the equipment or installation of the associated scope.

  • Participates in review of job costs and overall performance with a particular focus on production

  • Supports planning of on-the-job training to team members to ensure safety and quality of the work being done. Timely review of job sites for safety and quality of the work.

  • Work closely with all areas of the operations to create new opportunities for Loenbro.

  • Maintain an open line of communication with the PM

  • Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

    Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction of industrial projects, with a minimum of 5 years as a foreman and 5 years as a superintendent.

  • Experience managing projects with multiple crews and at least 150 craft employees

  • Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle & have Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    Potential Hazards:

  • Outside most of the time

  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures

  • Manufacturing and refining environment

  • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels

  • Limited working surfaces

  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors

  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility

  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)

  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks

  • If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

    Essential Requirements:

  • Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day

  • Standing

  • Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel

  • Use of respirator if position requires

  • Driving if required to travel

  • Expect travel within the greater region regularly
