Description

We are in the process of recruiting a Controller to be based in Westminister, Massachusetts. The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing all functions related to our accounting department, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the growth of the organization. This position presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong accounting software systems skills and a keen understanding of accounting functions, auditing, and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of our Accounting Department, ensuring work is completed within set parameters and timelines.

• Actively participate in recruitment efforts, including conducting interviews, and fostering a team atmosphere with open communication lines.

• Perform comprehensive performance management tasks, which include coaching and developing staff in line with their career potential.

• Responsible for closing financial books at the end of each month for both the organization and its subsidiaries.

• Ensure proper record keeping and reconciliation of various accounts such as fixed assets, pre-paids, reserves, and standard entries.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of all investment activity for the organization and its related corporations.

• Prepare quarterly NCUA call reports and month-end investment reports.

• Review payroll for accuracy and prepare general ledger posting sheet for payroll.

• Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and analysis of the Annual Budget.

• Ensure discrepancies, exceptions, and aging items are addressed, investigated, and communicated for further action.

• Serve as backup to the EVP/CFO during absences and provide coverage for other accounting personnel when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Banking or credit union experience is a must have

• Comprehensive knowledge and management of all Accounting Functions

• Must have experience in management
