Reference #: 4587045 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation in Lehigh County is currently looking to hire a Driver License Examiner Assistant. This role involves overseeing the application and knowledge testing procedures for both commercial and non-commercial driver's licenses in Pennsylvania. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The role involves interacting directly with customers to confirm applicant identification, assist with filling out application forms, and inputting data into online driver license application software. You will be administering standardized knowledge tests to assess applicants' knowledge of the Vehicle Code, driving regulations, and traffic control devices is also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, conducting vision screenings for visual acuity using specialized equipment is required. Entering applicant test results and customer applications into online software systems via a PC terminal is a key task in this position. You will adherence to all aspects of the Driver and Vehicle Services' Customer Service Policy is essential to ensure quality service delivery. This position will also be ensuring the correct fee waiver code is applied and properly documented when necessary for customer transactions is a crucial responsibility. Compliance with all Fee Waiver Guidelines is mandatory. Lastly, you will be performing any other duties as needed to support the efficient operation of the department is also expected in this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires overtime and travel as needed. One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
