Job Title: Volunteer Exempt Mail Associate

Reports to: Volunteer Exempt Mail Director

Salary: $5,000/monthly, Plus see below for details on the DPW generous benefits package

Start date: August 2024

Location: Madison or Milwaukee, WI ( Please note: Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin. )

The Opportunity: As a Volunteer Exempt Mail Associate, you will work cross-departmentally to support in executing & coordinating direct voter contact efforts. You will be responsible for executing the Volunteer Exempt Mail program that will work to elect Democrats up & down the ticket. The ideal applicant works well in fast-paced environments, can effectively communicate within our team and across departments.This position requires some flexible hours and eagerness to assist on any task.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute the statewide Volunteer Exempt Mail program in partnership with our Operations and Compliance leadership.

  • Assist with the preparation and execution of necessary Volunteer Exempt Programs in accordance to Volunteer Exempt Mail permit rules and State and Federal campaign finance statutes.

  • Work with the Volunteer Exempt Mail Director to ensure cross-departmental alignment on design, approvals, printing, budgeting, payment, and bulk distribution needs.

  • Track and manage documentation requirements, mailhouse communication and coordination, and mail volunteer recruitment and training. 

  • Monitor and respond to all bulk mail-related needs within the campaign.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

  • Strong Interpersonal Communication Skills - Namely, can connect with others, motivate & quickly gain trust with volunteers, staff, community members, stakeholders, and coalition partners, including, in particular, across lines of difference.

  • Dedicated to Democratic Values - Desire to fight for Democratic values and candidates; Highly motivated to achieve winning results.

  • Access to reliable transportation and a willingness to travel frequently.

    Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Recruiting and managing volunteers in political campaign context.

  • Experience managing a detailed system with strict documentation requirements.
