JOB SUMMARY:

System Safety Engineers are an integral part of cross-functional Engineering teams,assistingwith the implementation of SystemsEngineering, Development Assurance,andSystem Safety processes of Textron Aviation Business Jets, Turboprops,and Single Engineaircraftsystems in support ofaircrafttype certification.Candidates willassistsystems design teams with these processes as related to aspects of new product design and certification for domestic and foreign certification activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assistwith development of System Safety Reports including Aircraft and System Functional Hazard Assessments, Aircraft and System-level Safety Assessments, Common Mode Analysis, Particular Risk Analysis and Zonal Safety Analysis.

• Assistwith establishment of Systems Engineering process planning and execute to those plans.

• Apply systems engineeringmethodology, tools, and techniques to support the design, manufacture, and test ofaircraftsystems.

• Ensure that the quality, accuracy, and integrity of system and safety life cycle deliverablescomply withstandards and plans.

• Assistas needed with preparation of certification plans, ground and flight test plans, certification reports, and other documents.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in:

• Aerospace Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• related STEM field

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with electronic drafting tools such as CATIA V5 and VPM ishelpful

• Professional and diplomatic demeanor

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Time management skills arerequiredto work multiple concurrent projects of various size andscope

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
