Kansas Employer Appraisal Support Specialist II - Appraiser in Wichita, Kansas

The role of this position is to support the Residential and Agricultural Division in tracking, research, document management, and data entry of complex divisional entry. This position will also assist in the management of documentation provided by the Personal Property and Special Use Divisions of the office. It will also support all other functions needed for the office to meet all statutory and compliance timelines and requirements.

Document Management.

  • Prepare the appraiser data for scanning by interpreting the data and verifying the accuracy.
  • Scan or manually import specified documents into Orion or OnBase.
  • Perform self-quality control checks on scanning/importing.
  • Train and assist other support staff on the document management processes for scanning and importing into Orion or OnBase.
  • Assist the Records Coordinator with retention processes and reports.
  • Follow and comply with the annual Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Property Valuation (PVD), Revaluation Maintenance Specifications, and Compliance Guide.

Track Field Packs.

  • Create the agricultural and the residential appraiser data collection field packs.
  • Obtain a precise understanding of the data collection project including what resources to utilize.
  • Collect the appropriate documents for the project.
  • Assemble the documents in the correct format and order.
  • Log and track the agricultural and residential appraiser data collection field packs in the appropriate databases.
  • Perform self-quality control checks on all data entry into tracking databases.

Complex Residential Data Entry.

  • Prepare the pre-validation and field appraiser data for entry by interpreting the data and verifying the accuracy in the appropriate databases.
  • Perform the entry for the data in the appropriate databases.
  • Perform self-quality control checks on the entry.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Two 2 years of real estate document management, customer service in a real estate office, appraisal experience, or data management or analysis OR One year mass appraisal experience in administrative support in the Sedgwick County Appraisers Office. Must successfully pass the following courses within three years of hire date: International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Course 101 Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Kansas Property Tax Law, Kansas Personal Property Valuation and Assessment and Orion Introduction and Overview of Basic Functionality

Preferred Qualifications: Four years of mass appraisal experience. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Have one or more of the following professional designations: Registered Mass Appraiser (RMA), Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE), Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES), Mass Appraisal Specialist (MAS), or Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS).
