Position Specific Responsibilities

Pump, pump, pump it up! Well we cant all the time or it creates issues.\ Join the team leading the effort to analyze compensation & continuing to make strides in fair & equitable compensation practices for all university employees.\ \

This position is focused on pay analysis of positions across the university & using established best practices and methodologies to partner with and provide leaders with the tools and resources to make pay decisions. Were moving towards a more collaborative approach to pay increases and offers, rather than just being a figure behind the scenes.\ \

To thrive we need a professional who understands advanced uses of MS Excel for this analysis. Having the ability to integrate multiple data sources to get the full picture of current compensation & how the university can achieve its goals for the future of employee compensation. While youll primarily be working with data from Kansas, having knowledge of wage and compensation laws in other states will be a big plus. This isnt just a data focused role, its very interactive with employees & leaders, so effective and understandable communication is key. The key is being solutions-orientated by understanding the leaders desires for their teams & working with them to best meet those needs.\ \

Summary of Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and performs highly complex professional, technical and analytical work to implement human resources programs, policies and procedures related to human resources functional area.

Essential Functions

Consults with and proactively advises Human Resources Business Partners and leadership on human resources programs, policies and procedures.\ Provides prompt resolution of requests and questions specific to functional area, which may have been escalated due to the specialized and highly complex nature.\ Serves as a subject matter expert in functional area; works closely with leaders to understand, refine and prioritize their needs.\ Performs complex data analysis utilizing internal and external data to assist with decision making. Retrieves and organizes data for internal utilization and reporting.\ Evaluates programs, policies and procedures to assess effective utilization of resources and ensure progress on Universitys strategic initiatives. Formulates, develops, recommends and/or implements action for program and/or process improvement.\ Leads and/or participates in human resources projects.
