Accountabilities:

• Conducta developmental screening on each child age 0-5 years of age that enter the shelters. Collaboratewith parents, case manager, counselor, and child advocates regarding services.
• Workwith children and parents individually and in group settings to enhance developmental skills. Providea solution-oriented approach to problems and concerns including non-violent discipline methods.
• Documentassessment, family history and progress regarding developmental and behavioral issues of child. Followup with clients and continue provision ofservice as appropriate.
• Coordinatecommunity resources and refers clients to subsequent services. Maintainprofessional contact with community resources and advocates client needs. Reportsuspicions of abuse or neglect.
• Conduct life skills classes for families as needed addressing topics relevant to their roles asparents and/or care givers of children.
• Complete all documentation relevant to role as Early Childhood Specialist in a timely manner.
