Handyman - Carpenter - Facility Technician job purpose:

Perform various construction related tasks at various client jobsites including small scale remodels and reactive maintenance needs. Tasks assigned will include; tile & grout, trim/rough carpentry, ceiling tile/grid, painting, demo, flooring, concrete form work, FRP install, cabinet & countertop installs, door & hardware install, etc. There will also be tasks associated with performingmaintenance, repair, and warranty work to existing buildings.

Essential Functions, other duties may be assigned.

  • Travel is required, generally in the KS, MO, OK, NE states.
  • This position will be home most weekends with travel M-F, occasional weekdays will be spent at home when work flow allows for it.
  • Performs various carpentry and maintenance work, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC repairs.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Willingness to work overnight hours (additional pay provided)
  • Constructs, repairs, and restores floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
  • Positions, joins, aligns, and seals structural components, such as hanging sheetrock, siding, and tieback.
  • Installs locks, knobs, hinges, closures, and other fixtures to structures.
  • Installs siding, drywall, insulation, tile, and other wall or floor coverings.
  • Installs and repairs molding and trim of windows, doors, baseboards, mantels, and other ornamental pieces to ensure quality finished work.
  • Builds and positions forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after use.
  • Checks work to ensure it is compliant with codes and specifications.
  • Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials and tools needed for specific work orders / scope of work
  • Performs work in compliance with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Is able to conduct themselves in a professional manner, this position has interaction with clients & store managers
  • Ability to self manage and remain on task when working independently

Qualifications and Requirements

Must be willing/able to travel, it will not always be overnight travel but travel is a requirement for this position.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pre-employment physical and drug screen

Valid Drivers License required.

Experience and license to operate rough terrain forklift, bobcat, and lifts preferred.

Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety procedures. OSHA 10 certification is required (will provide training if needed)

Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in rough and finished carpentry in commercial settings.

Basic knowledge of ADA, building codes and requirements.

Experience with tile setting, acoustical ceiling, wall covering, painting, and drywall preferred.

Must be able to complete paperwork in a timely manner and adhere to customer schedules while maintaining up-to-date communication.

Ability to work with others in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, subcontractors, supervisors and customers.

Contributes to building a positive team atmosphere.

Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.

Ability to safely use a wide variety of hand and power tools, including, but not limited to, levels, squares, grinders, saws, and drills.

Ability to work proficiently on various various devises and software including; Smartphone, iPad, laptop, email, Word/Excel/PDF documents, various construction management software specific to our company
