Field Service Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic\ Kansas Paving / Kansas Ready Mix is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of Construction equipment, trucks, trailers and Cement mixer trucks through our mobile repair station. This person will be a field service technician, requiring local travel (within 50 miles) to diagnose and fix issues with trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.

This is a full-time position Monday thru Friday and some Saturdays. We are urgently hiring! Hiring immediately!

The right candidate will be a:

Diesel mechanic

Diesel technician

Fleet mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

and preferably have the following knowledge:

automotive

truck

diesel

CDL

Heavy Equipment Repair

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE

• Keep work area clean, orderly, and safe
• Provide routine maintenance of equipment
• Assemble, set up, adjust and/or repair all types of construction equipment and parts
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
• Read and understand operating manuals and technical drawings
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hand tools
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
• Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools
• Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and maintain service records
• Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using control and regulating devices
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School degree or GED required
• Must have a valid driver\'s license
• Technical certification preferred or relevant experience
• 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
