The Luzerne County Area Agency on Aging is looking for a motivated Accountant 1 to complete our team. This position gives you the opportunity to utilize your job knowledge while working with the accountability of Federal Grant Programs, payroll processing, purchasing, and auditing fiscal activities within the Active Adult Centers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Accountant 1, you will be tasked with maintaining the accrual balances of each employee in the time tracking system, providing quarterly reports to the employees, and reviewing the accrual balances in the Kronos system to identify and resolve accrual discrepancies. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting a monthly report of spending and request for funds for the Senior Aide program to National Council on Aging (NCOA), preparing and submitting a bi-weekly payment tracker, journal entries, monthly budget monitor for the program director to review spending, final report to NCOA, as well as a program package for year-end audit. Other duties may include accumulating financial data for special projects as required by supervisor and maintaining payroll schedules for the Employment Program through the federal and state funding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
