Description/Job Summary
Maintains the shelter in accordance with established rules/regulations. This includes adherence to all program policies, procedures, and standards in terms of program operations and day to day management activities. Provides supervision of residents while at the shelter, as well as during any outside events, appointments, etc.
Responsibilities/Duties
Provides transportation of residents while going to the shelter, as well as during any outside events, appointments, etc.
Provide intake and admission duties for residents coming into the shelter. This includes screening individuals for program appropriateness (Megan's Law List etc.) and gathering demographic and other information.
This position will report to the Program Supervisor for direction, monitoring, and evaluation of job performance.
Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
All shelter staff must possess at least a high school diploma or GED, although a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services Discipline is preferred.
All workers (drivers) must possess a valid PA driver's license and must be able to navigate stairs and be able to lift at least 50lbs.
The individual must consent to the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance and FBI Clearance.
The Diocese of Scranton requires that all employees complete an initial VIRTUS Training Program, designed to empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church. Employees will also be required to monitor the VIRTUS website and complete any internet updates as they become assigned.
Employees must also complete all other training programs, out services, in-services, conferences, seminars, conventions, etc., as assigned by their Supervisor.
