MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Experience may be accepted in lieu of a college degree. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree with emphasis on business administration, economics or a related field. Masters degree preferred. Knowledge of accrediting organization and state regulations for hospital facility. _EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years of experience as Materials Management Director in the healthcare environment. _PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Completes annual education requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. Wears identification while on duty. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control. Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directive to staff and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. __NATURE OF WORK: Responsible for the coordination of the materials management system throughout the hospital with regards to procurement, processing and distribution of materials and services. This system shall meet or exceed the requirements of the hospital and be accomplished in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
