Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in WILLIAMSVILLE, New York

Description Robert Half has an opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Williamsville, New York.

Your responsibilities

  • Filing documents to maintain historical records

  • Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

  • Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections

  • Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

  • Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules Requirements - Experience with reconciliations

  • Analyze Financial Statements experience required

  • Solid understanding of full charge bookkeeping

  • Adeptness in QuickBooks

  • Deep understanding of Individual Tax Return

  • Corporate Tax Return experience

    • Excel and Peachtree experience desired
  • Background in payroll preferred

  • Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

  • Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

  • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
