    Job Responsibilities

    50% Agency Growth: Develop a sales strategy that focuses on market opportunities and team execution to achieve department sales and revenue goals. Analyze data and implement action plans to increase sales and customer retention. Utilize performance management to train and increase execution of team performance. Create innovative and creative lead generation programs. Partner with marketing to enhance agency awareness.

    20% Carrier Development: Serve as subject matter expert for Commercial vendor product and underwriting guidelines and assist associates with questions. Serve as a liaison with the insurance carrier(s) to ensure timely underwriting of policies and maintain current knowledge of the insurance carriers' underwriting guidelines. Foster and develop successful relationships with each commercial carrier the agency is appointed with.

    Team Development: Lead through example by actively soliciting and placing commercial business policies and mentoring agents on best practices to do the same. Demonstrate and assist agent prospecting, quoting, and market placement of all commercial lines. Lead the execution of commercial sales strategy. Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding progress of work and performance. Make well informed decisions, demonstrate initiative, use sound judgment, exhibit autonomy, and execute.

    15% Account Development: Produce new business and service commercial accounts to drive overall department growth.

    Job Specific Requirement

  • Active Commercial Insurance license required; Active P&C Insurance license preferred

  • Responsible to obtain and maintain the required license or certification in an active status throughout employment with AAA WCNY while in this position

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System

  • Ability to resolve problems and work under pressure to resolve conflicts and effectively manage members’ concerns

  • Effectively multitask with several different responsibilities throughout the day

  • Applied Agency Management System experience is preferred

  • Proven experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a results-oriented team with strong accountability for results

  • Knowledge of market research & prior marketing strategy experience

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a collaborative partner across business functions

  • Proven experience developing budgets and managing P&L, and customer relationship management

  • Ability to travel (including possible overnight/weekends) within Club territory.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform routine office tasks that includes operating a computer for long periods of time, sitting, filing and communicating on the phone

  • Ability to perform all physical functions consistent with travel including sitting in airplanes and driving for long periods of time

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull a maximum of 30 lbs

    Compensation

The mid-market salary range for this position is $93,544.00 to $103,937.00. Starting salary is dependent on several factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, and skills required.
