Planate Management Group LLC As-built Drafting Technician (Palo Alto, CA) in Wilmington, Delaware

Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

The As Built Drafting Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide exceptional services to VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (VAPAHCS) in Palo Alto, CA. You will be responsible in providing drawings to track changes according to construction project.

Job Description:

  • Interacts extensively with VAPAHCS staff on a recurring basis to assess progress and prioritization of tasks and updates.

  • Prepare and manage existing inventory of VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) as-builts plans, central models, and digital files for all buildings in Revit, AutoCAD, and PDF files.

  • Coordinate with VA CFM Resident Engineers (RE), VAPAPHCS Project Managers (PM) to ensure as-built documents are properly save, archive, and accessible.

  • Site verify as-built drawings.

  • Develop & manage the AutoCAD & Revit file sytem. Organize and maintain a systematic filing system for as-built drawings, ensuring easy retrieval, reference, and updates.

  • Coordinate with vLogic with redline markups to update AE plans to reflect current built condition (site plans, floor plans, MEP, data, etc.).

  • Coordinate with vLogic on missing as-built documents.

Qualifications to be Successful in this Role:

  • Minimum of five (5) years or more experience in the drafting and CAD/BIM file management of commercial, industrial, health care buildings, and campus projects.

  • Ability to perform drafting skills in Revit, as evidenced by competency in the following domains outlined by Autodesk (or industry equivalent) certification programs. a. Modeling (8 sub-domains for User certification):

  • Work with Walls

  • Modeling (8 sub-domains for User certification): Add doors, windows, and openings

  • Display (4 sub-domains for User certification)

  • Documentation (6 sub-domains for User certification)

  • Modeling (6 sub-domains for Professional certification)

  • Documentation (7 sub-domains for Professional certification)

  • Collaboration and coordination (6 sub-domains for Professional certification)

  • Project standards and settings (4 sub-domains for Professional certification)

  • Information analysis (3 sub-domains for Professional certification)

  • Ability to perform drafting skills in AUTOCAD, as evidenced by competency in the following domains outlined by Autodesk (or industry equivalent) certification programs. j. Understand and apply drafting concepts and standards.

  • Set up, manage, and organize drawings.

  • Link and reference external files and data.

  • Author and edit drawing content.

  • Apply annotations and detailing to drawings.

  • Use collaboration tools.

  • Configure and manage design output.

  • Professional skill with PDF editors (provision of work samples will be required).

  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Ability to obtain and assemble data to complete as-built architectural and engineering documents, visiting job sites to verify as-built conditions as necessary.

  • Clear communication skills to understand and interpret technical discussions. Effective communication, both orally and in writing.

  • Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and maintaining official project records.

  • Experience in conducting meetings, and briefing VA and management personnel.

  • CAD and Revit work samples are required for review.
