Trinity Health Patient Escort- Full Time Days - St Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware

Description:

The escort/clerk position is responsible for the safe and courteous transport of patients and additional items such as IV poles and O2 tanks from Nursing Units to diagnostic/treatment areas. They must also return patients to the appropriate Nursing unit. The escort/clerk is also responsible for monitoring the integrity of wheelchairs and stretchers, reporting any unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. When not escorting patients, this position functions as a clerk. In this capacity, the clerk is required to answer the phone, utilize office equipment such as fax machines and copiers. The escort/clerk must also retrieve files and reports and re-file same. The clerk is expected to have a thorough understanding of the Radiology Information System and Radiology Imaging system.

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification/Skills):

High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology.

Prior medical office work or escort experience preferred.
