Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial reporting and operational analysis with assigned plants within in NA. As a key member of each plant’s support team, the Plant Controller works closely with plant management to provide analytical support, assist in the development / enhancement of reporting processes, and provide recommendations to improve internal controls and profitability. This position is based in Wilmington Delaware

Reporting to the Finance Manager.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE:

  • The Senior Financial Analyst prepares monthly and quarterly operating statements along with supporting analysis and commentary for Senior Management and shareholders.

  • Senior Financial Analyst prepares monthly and quarterly KPI’s for plant management and Manufacturing Directors and assists in the development of new KPI’s.

  • The Senior Financial Analyst is a key liaison for the Plant Manager in overseeing/evaluating his/her plant by usually explaining financial information to managers with a non-financial background.

  • Prepare, analyze, and publish reporting packages with data integrity for the review of Plant Managers, Manufacturing Directors along with the VP Operations and Yorkdale to be used to analyze operations and make strategic decisions.

  • These reporting packages include both financial and operation reporting including KPI’s.

  • This reporting requires the correlation of monthly operational data (i.e. production metrics) to financial data (cost and profitability) to highlight the opportunity costs of production deficiencies.

  • Continuously reviewing identified reporting which flags a lack of timely compliance with plant processes and liaise with plant operations staff to ensure that remedial action is taken in a timely manner.

  • Play an active role in supporting the annual planning process with Plant Mgmt. ensuring that the forecasting is realistic using past performance as an indicator of future performance.

  • During the planning process, PC's are expected to be capable of performing business modeling i.e what-if scenarios.

  • After the annual Plan is finalized, Plant Controllers are responsible for reporting against same and providing explanations where there are deviations from Plan.

  • Ensure the accuracy of reported costs by continually ensuring Bill of Material (BOM) are accurate and reflect the current use or raw materials with production.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a Finance concentration; MBA preferred

  • CPA or CMA Designation preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive financial analytical experience

  • Strong understanding of cost and mgmt. accounting including budgeting through previous experience in a large multi-site manufacturing environment

  • Solid understanding of accounting policies including IFRS and GAAP

  • Proficient working in an advanced ERP environment (preferably JDE experience) along with advanced Excel skills

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-focused and commitment to meet challenging deadlines which sometimes require a flexible schedule with a professional commitment to maintain confidentiality

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure consistency in reporting methodology
