Acadia Healthcare Counselor I in Wilmington, North Carolina

Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health/related Field OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with pending Master’s Degree in behavioral health Required. Master’s Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.

  • At least two years clinical experience specifically with chemically dependent / dually diagnosed population preferred.

  • Licensed Professional Counselor preferred.

    Job duties/Resonsibilities:

  • Provides individual and group therapy for patients and documents the process in the patient record.

  • Ensures that all necessary documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is done in clear, concise, and timely manner.

  • Develops and presents didactic material to patients.

  • Conducts family sessions and documents accordingly in the patient record as needed.

  • Provides crisis intervention to patients as needed.

  • Plans aftercare for assigned patients

  • Evaluates patient’s needs and determines if psychiatric referral is needed.

  • Assists in training of new clinical staff and interns.

  • Completes mandatory Essential Learning courses.
