Job Description Summary

The Senior Performance Improvement Leader is responsible for leading and implementing improvement initiatives across the Nuclear Services business, which includes nuclear power plant outages, reactor upgrades, inspections, fuel movement, and various other services. This role requires a deep understanding of performance improvement processes, alignment with INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) standards, and a solid grasp of the business's core functions. The successful candidate will manage a small team and interface with various levels of employees and management, also with customers, analyze data to proactively address issues, and recommend actions to enhance performance. The role requires independent judgment, advanced skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor PI programs or oversee PI processes within the specific Services areas to align with INPO standards.

  • Conduct trending analysis by preparing site performance data and identifying adverse trends through observations, corrective action programs (CAP), self-assessments, benchmarking, operating experience (OPEX), and performance indicator data.

  • Drive and assist the business leaders in the execution of action plans and projects that support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Support investigations within the corrective action program and assist in incident reviews, including Human Performance Review Boards (HURB) as necessary, to ensure quality Condition Reports,

  • Perform effectiveness reviews of completed condition reports and improvement actions to ensure sustainability and impact.

  • Manage operational performance indicators, respond to trends, and prepare reports for management review meetings and other performance improvement meetings.

  • Lead the Observation and Coaching program, managing the observation database tool, training staff, setting expectations, and overseeing execution.

  • Manage the Operating Experience and Lessons Learned program to promote the sharing of industry and internal operating experiences

  • Advocate for a positive nuclear safety culture by promoting prompt problem identification and resolution, leadership presence in the field, effective change management, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process improvement within the nuclear industry.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The preferred work location is onsite at the GE Hitachi Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington, NC, but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally to customer sites.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading improvement initiatives and managing performance improvement programs.

  • Strong knowledge and application of INPO standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in nuclear industry standard process improvement tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of nuclear safety culture and industry regulations.

The base pay range for this position is $123,000 to $180,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday October 4th.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
