Job Description Summary
The U.S. Senior Licensing Engineer, Regulatory Affairs, based in the U.S., will complete various regulatory work scopes in the US and around the world, including New Power Plant Licensing (NPPL), and work with GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC (GEH) and Global Nuclear Fuels LLC (GNF) Engineering and Regulatory Affairs teams on major projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
As the US Senior Licensing Engineer, Regulatory Affairs, you will perform the following for GEH reactors to be deployed in the U.S and around the world:
Participate under the direction of the U.S. Licensing Technical Leaders, Regulatory Affairs, in task associated with the nuclear regulatory review process in the US and/or other countries.
Coordinate with GEH/GNF Engineering and NPPL Regulatory Affairs teams in the US, and other countries in support of the nuclear regulatory review process
Coordinate, prepare, and review input to new reactor licensing application submittals
Coordinate , prepare and review licensing reports including responses to customer and/or regulators
Interface with customers, regulatory personnel, contractors, and industry working groups on regulatory issues, and to secure applicable permissions and approvals related to work scopes
Coordinate, prepare, and review Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports (PSAR), and Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) markups and revisions supporting various plants and projects
Coordinate, prepare and review verification tasks for safety evaluations
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college (OR Master's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience)
Minimum of 7 years of related professional work experience including:
Minimum 4 years of direct nuclear licensing experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience performing / providing input into nuclear safety evaluations, including satisfaction of regulatory requirements for nuclear regulatory documents
Minimum of 1 year of experience involving complex projects, and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects
Eligibility Requirements

This position requires access to and/or use of information subject to control under the United States Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810) and the Export Administration Regulations (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774) (collectively, “US Export Control Laws”). Therefore, the applicant must be able to be authorized to access and/or use such information under US Export Control Laws and any applicable import/export requirements in the US.
Desired Characteristics
3 or more years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls systems
Experience working on PSAR/FSAR Chapter 7 (I&C) activities
Experience working on PSAR/FSAR Chapter 8 (electrical) activities
3 or more years of experience in deterministic safety analysis
Excellent technical writing skills and oral communication skills in English with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences
Experience working on PSAR/FSAR Chapter 15 (Accident Analysis) activities
5 or more years of experience with U.S. nuclear requirements and guidance
2 or more years in U.S. new power plant licensing including the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) pre-application process and new power plant site licensing
NRC Licensing process and regulatory knowledge / technical knowledge in new nuclear plant licensing including licensing application requirements under 10 CFR 50 and 10 CFR 52NRC Licensing process and regulatory knowledge / technical knowledge of one or more areas, such as I&C, safety analysis, operating plants, etc.
Management experience in Regulatory Affairs or large engineering projects
Working knowledge of boiling water reactor (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations, with specific experience with Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) or Economically Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) engineering or licensing desired
Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working / communicating with nuclear regulators
Experience working with industry groups (i.e., NEI and Owners Groups) on nuclear licensing matters
International licensing experience
Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills
Process skills related to coordinating and documenting complex technical documents
Externally focused: takes action to enhance the reputation of the company / represents the company well at all opportunities
Clear thinker: communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities

The base pay range for this position is 111K - 185K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 6/24/2024.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
