Hannahville Indian Community Police Officer in Wilson, Michigan

Police Officer -- Seeking one full time police officer position needed to serve and protect the Hannahville Indian Community through active law enforcement. Functions include all aspects of police duties under applicable Tribal, State and Federal jurisdiction, including criminal investigations, answering calls for service, rendering assistance where needed and promoting a community policing environment.

Qualifications - HS Diploma or GED; must be MCOLES licensed or Licensable. Valid driver's license. Associate degree or higher; community policing experience; prior police experience preferred; obtain BIA-SLEC certification; must be able to communicate well orally and in writing; make accurate decisions under pressure; be at least 21 years of age; be a Michigan resident and be able to meet the departments residency requirements; reputation must be above reproach; must have no domestic violence convictions and no felonies; must successfully complete the departments background investigation and drug and alcohol testing.

Wage -- $21.53 or dependent upon experience. There is a one-year probationary period. Candidates with prior full time policing experience may qualify to start at a salary higher than entry level.
