Job Title: Assembly Technician

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling electrical wiring and components for shredding machines and their sub-assemblies. You will follow drawings, written procedures, manufacturer’s recommendations, and verbal specifications. This includes assembling 3 phase (plug and play) wiring from components such as motors and sensors to the control panel.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical 3 phase wiring into control panels for shredders, compactors, and other products.

  • Perform complex wiring and assembly operations on standardized electric units, sub-assemblies, and chassis.

  • Work from established wiring charts, schematics, or samples, adhering to standards and procedures.

  • Set up systems for testing, break down, and prepare systems for paint and/or shipment.

  • Communicate issues of quality with co-workers and supervisors.

  • Anticipate and help plan for materials and resources needed for current and upcoming jobs.

  • Ensure work areas are kept neat, clean, and organized.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, symbols, and other technical drawings.

  • Excellent electrical skills.

  • Able to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and gauges.

  • Operate assembly equipment such as grinders, cordless drills, pneumatic tools, and assorted basic hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electrical assembly and electrical wiring experience.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

  • Blueprint reading and understanding of diagrams and wiring schematics.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial equipment shop. You will be working with various technologies and equipment, including grinders, cordless drills, pneumatic tools, and basic hand tools. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00
