Job Title: Home Center Associate Account Manager - Doors

Pay & FSLA Status: Competitive Compensation, D.O.E.; Salary exempt

Regular Schedule & Shift: Monday – Friday; Day shift

Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours accrued year 1; 120 hours accrued annually after year 1

Paid Sick Time: 40 hours annually

Branch Location: Corporate office in Wilsonville, OR (hybrid flexible)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Home Center Associate Account Manager is responsible for program development and execution of associated initiatives with the assigned home center for the assigned product line (doors). This role also works closely with the sales team for the account on product and process training for customer associates, as well as provides personnel development for OrePac employees.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Account Management:

  • Work with customer contacts at the corporate, regional, and local levels.

  • Determine key performance metrics with account leadership and set up tracking systems to audit category performance.

  • Create new programs for the evolving business channels through the assigned home center customer.

    Program Development:

  • Work with supplier contacts, customer contacts, and internal business units to develop new product programs to introduce to the assigned home center.

    Program Execution and Maintenance:

  • Work with internal business units (supply chain, operations, I.T., and others as needed) to execute new programs and updates to existing programs.

  • Audit existing programs to evaluate assortment, pricing, and operational performance.

  • Present recommended changes and oversee program update projects.

  • Evaluate financial performance on programs and create corresponding development plans.

  • Analyze space performance of SKU’s and work on corresponding plan-o-gramming.

    Store Support:

  • Travel to assigned home center stores across the West to evaluate team performance and assess the competitive landscape.

  • Train internal employees on how to perform product knowledge training sessions for assigned home center associates.

  • Work with internal business units (I.T., marketing, finance, account services, and others as needed) to develop training collateral and sales aids for associated programs.

    Projects and Report Outs:

  • Organize and run projects for initiatives with associated categories.

  • Create summary project report outs for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards for associated programs.

  • Track and report out program performance in both presentation and executive summary formats.

  • Prepare business review presentations to demonstrate performance against targets and what adjustments will be implemented to drive account growth.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to assigned home center stores. Lodging and meals will be provided by OrePac.

  • Highly relational and able to communicate clearly at multiple layers of the business.

  • Ability to develop a program and corresponding plan for implementation.

  • Confident math skills (algebra, writing formulas and functions in Excel).

  • Ability to evaluate program and product performance.

  • Understanding of how to assess competitive opportunities and threats.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Great follow-up skills through both e-mail and phone calls.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel (queries, formulas, pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Comfortable learning new work systems (i.e. customer data portals and organizational ERP).

  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats. Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people consisting of employees, customers, and/or members of leadership. Skilled at summarizing and presenting program proposals to both internal and external audiences.

  • Confident public speaking skills.

  • Ability to work with various types of personalities to achieve results.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments throughout the day and reprioritize as necessary.

  • Professional demeanor in representing the organization and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

  • Background working in the building materials industry, preferred but not required.

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet.

  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

  • This position will travel to assigned home center locations up to 25% of the time.

    DRESS CODE:

  • All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful.

    SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report all incidents and accidents to one’s immediate supervisor within 24 hours.

  • Maintain the work area in a safe and healthful condition.

  • Report, and whenever possible correct, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership.

  • Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies. OrePac will provide required PPE to employees.
