Aerotek Grinder Operator- Weekend Shift in Wilsonville, Oregon

Job Title: Grinder Operator

Job Description

A Grind Operator will work in a grinding cell and operate machinery. They will be responsible for grinding down steel parts that can weigh up to 450 lbs. Training will be provided to operate jib and overhead cranes to move parts safely. Responsibilities include studying blueprints and machining instructions to determine grinding operations, computing machine indexing ratios, selecting index plate, cams, grinding wheel, feed rates, grinding speed, and depth of cut, and setting up automatic dressing devices to dress wheels to specified profiles. The operator will also manage work areas, maintain accurate process sheets, and develop new ones, ensuring high-quality production with minimal scrap. They will be responsible for managing inventory of segments and coolant, and reordering as necessary to assure continuous production.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Shift

Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 5am to 5.45pm

Work Environment

This role involves working in a heavy industrial machine shop where you are exposed to the elements. If it is cold outside, it will be cold inside. Must be comfortable with getting dirty as coolant, steam, and metal grime are consistently present at the machines.
