Job Title: Assembly Mechanic
Job Description
Join our team as an Assembly Mechanic, where you will be responsible for assembling industrial shredders and their sub-assemblies. This role involves following drawings, written procedures, manufacturers’ recommendations, and verbal specifications. You will work with hydraulic and electric powered systems, perform inspections on parts to determine their condition, set up systems for testing, break down and prepare systems for paint and/or shipment, and tear down and inspect rebuild systems.
Hard Skills
Mechanical inclination
Experience with blueprints and schematic diagrams
Proficiency in using power tools
Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints
Troubleshooting complex mechanical systems
Knowledge of bearings, seals, shafts, and other shredder components
Operation of common assembly equipment (torches, pneumatic tools, hydraulic jacks, grinders, pipe fitting/cutting equipment)
Reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings
Operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, manlifts, and scissorlifts
Soft Skills
Attention to detail
Organizational skills
Ability to manage work area and maintain high levels of housekeeping and cleanliness
Safety-conscious attitude
Anticipating material and resource needs for current and upcoming jobs
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 18 Week(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Work Environment
Industrial shop environment with open bay doors, loud and noisy due to grinding and welding activities around the shop. Work shifts are available in Day (7am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday) and Swing (3:30pm-2am, Monday-Thursday with a $2/hr differential).
