Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

TE’s Medical business unit, part of the Industrial Solutions segment, offers medical device OEMs, a complete product offering, and capability portfolio for minimally invasive, imaging, surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic devices. You will have an exciting opportunity to be the lead technical resource for global manufacturing operations of FEP and other heat shrink tubing processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineers, through example and mentorship, in solving high priority challenging problems leveraging your advanced problem solving, creativity and leadership skills.

  • Support Operational Strategy for area of responsibility.

  • Define and implement effective process monitoring tools and techniques to fully quantify process characteristics.

  • Partner with development teams in the achievement of innovation objectives and execution of successful product/process launches.

  • Evaluate products for manufacturability and provide technical guidance for corrective/preventative actions.

  • Define and execute operational plans and strategy

  • Develops engineering organizational strategy to provide exceptional customer experiences to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Assess risk and compliance across area of responsibility.

  • Develop and maintain a high performing engineering team.

  • Manage Capex budget for area of responsibility.

  • Ensure performance and development activities are completed in accordance with TE policies and procedures.

  • Support safety initiatives.

  • Drive innovation and apply a dynamic approach to market demands and trends.

  • Assess and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency.

  • Adapt/modify traditional approaches to enhance quality or value to existing methods.

  • Determine best course of action to meet schedules and/or resolve technical challenges

What your background should look like:

  • You bring a strong foundational knowledge in thermoplastic processing, including material science and polymer extrusion.

  • You have exceptional communication skills and can effectively engage both internal and external customers.

  • You have a BS/MS in related Engineering field. Manufacturing, Mechanical or Materials engineering preferred.

  • You have a Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an advanced manufacturing company with progressive levels of responsibility.

  • You have a proven track record of engineering leadership including direct management of others.

  • You have a passion for six sigma and statistical methodology in manufacturing process development and control.

  • You thrive on coming up with new ideas and leading others to do the same.

  • You can adapt to work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment.

  • Any medical device manufacturing experience you have would be valued, but it is not required.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $111,600 - $167,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
