Set-Up Technician

Job Description
The Set-Up Technician conducts tooling set-ups, including tool installation, machine preparation, and barrel cleaning to support the injection molding process. This role distributes material for molding operations and aids in the troubleshooting and resolution of production problems while monitoring product quality and process productivity.
Responsibilities
Conduct tooling set-ups, including tool installation, machine preparation, and barrel cleaning.
Perform equipment set-ups as directed, including installing injection molds and ensuring equipment generates good parts.
Adjust machine parameters to correct defects observed during production.
Work with process engineering to troubleshoot, improve processes, optimize cycle times, and conduct engineering tests.
Collect and enter data to support documented procedures.
Handle robot programming and optimization.
Perform barrel cleaning and grinder cleaning.
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude
Experience with hand and power tools
Basic to moderate computer/PC skills (MS Office)
Good time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Good communication skills with the ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude preferred
Ability to work varying work schedules during training
Must be ITAR compliant

Work Environment
This role operates within an injection metal molding company. The work environment includes a floor stacked with molding machines, making it a fairly crowded space with a high level of safety focus. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with shifts starting on Monday at 11:00pm and ending at 7:30am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.25
