Business Unit Overview

8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This role is a unique opportunity for a highly-driven undergraduate to spend the summer with a fast growing company. The engineering internship offers a student the opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a manufacturing setting while gaining valuable first-hand experience working with state-of-the-art pasta production, and packaging equipment. Job Responsibilities: Help performing design work, conduct research, gather information, and conduct feasibility and economic studies of projects. Assist at development of all project documents including project justifications, engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates and schedules. Assist at writing the Capital Expenditure Requests for all capital projects. Develop new reports as needed and/or maintain existing reports for the department (ratios, KPIs, costs analysis). Help develop and update P&ID drawing Optimize CMMS usage and PM development to improve OEE Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and management personnel to successfully complete assigned projects. Learn good manufacturing and food safety practices. Other duties, as assigned Basic Qualifications: Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must have experience with mS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT) Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Successful completion of at least 6 semesters of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree Program in Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, Industrial Engineering Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Eng or other applicable engineering field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AutoCAD software Previous experience in an Engineering Internship role Physical Job Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for 6+ hours per day Must be able to lift-up to 34 pounds 6+ hours per day Must be able to push, pull, grasp and use fine motor skills for 6+ hours per day Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, and express ideas by spoken and written word Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel and stoop for 3+ hours per day Must be able to reach above shoulders for 3+ hours per day Must be able to climb on and off a ladder for 3+ hours per day Must be able to work in a dusty environment for 3+ hours per day
