Saint-Gobain Production Lead - 3rd Shift in WINDER, Georgia

The Role

Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production operations of CertainTeed Finishing products while maintaining company quality and productivity standards. Promotes and maintains a positive team environment with a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement. Performs autonomous maintenance (cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) on equipment as directed. Enters production data and work requests into the ERP system for the production shift. Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the operation of all process equipment and serves as the primary trainer for the team. Qualified forklift operator and serves as the backup to the shift forklift operator when required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a safe working environment through policy enforcement and continuous monitoring & training.

  • Follows procedures, checklists, and safety protocols.

  • Member of Emergency Response Team - Qualified to operate a production line producing any product.

  • Qualified to relieve operator for all Ready Mix line and Dry Powder production lines producing all products.

  • Performs Autonomous Maintenance (Clean, Inspection, and Lubrication) on production equipment to procedure.

  • Performs daily tasks utilizing SAP software for data entry and notification reporting.

  • Subject matter expert on the production process. Trainer for shift personnel.

  • Forklift truck certified. Qualified to relieve Material Handler position when required.

  • Inspect products for flaws and defects, immediately alert the team of any problems or defects, and package each product correctly.

  • Keep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for incoming shifts.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. work orders), read and understand specifications for all products.

  • Keep supervisors, operators, and other teammates informed of all problems or relative production concerns.

  • Build boxes, clean and maintain printers, keep track of tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are available.

  • Work closely with team members to be more efficient, troubleshooting problems and helping find new or better solutions.

  • Participate in and promote continuous improvement ideas.

  • Set up and have the ability to start up a production line from idle to a run state

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • LOTO trained (Lock Out/Tag Out). - Knowledge and ability to use appropriate quality inspection tools to ensure quality and reproducibility.

  • Able to perform warehouse checks.

  • Contribute to the creation and revision of JSA’s

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers.

  • Progressive manufacturing-related experience including 2 years of leadership responsibility.

  • Minimum English language competency to adequately perform duties and responsibilities (written & verbal).
